We weighed lambs last Tuesday and they all are growing well. Older lambs like Good Daughters have all tripled their birth weights. We are supplementing her lambs a bit, but they prefer to nurse from their mother when she is up, and she is up more every day. On Friday Lolo witnessed Good Daughter getting up on her own with no assistance, and she is now getting up on her own almost every time, with the exception of first thing in the morning, when she needs a little steadying of her hips. I’m giving her lots of encouragement and hugs. (So glad we can still hug sheep as much as we want!)
Melinda made a beautiful little movie of our lambing season that I’ve posted on YouTube. We miss all of our human friends and it feels good to be able to share some of the joy and comfort we are deriving from our flock.
