DK Weight Thelma Lou, Gladys & Pip: Hand-Dyed with Dandelion Flowers

This DK-weight yarn was spun for us by Mendocino Wool Mill in Ukiah, CA, from the fleeces from our Romney ewes Thelma Lou and Gladys, and Gladys’s daughter Pip. I mordanted the yarn and dyed it to a bright lemony-yellow with wild dandelions (actually the dandelion-like flower known as Rough Hawkbit) from our ranch. 2-ply, 200 yards per 3.25 oz skein. Gauge: 5.5 stitches/inch on size 5 to 7 needles.
