This worsted-weight 3-ply yarn was spun for us by Mendocino Wool Mill in Ukiah, CA, from a trio of fleeces from Frieda, a “Friedale” (half Corriedale half East Friesian), Goldrush, a “Romnesian” ewe (half Romney, half East Friesian) and Dale, our Corriedale ram. I mordanted the yarn and dyed it with Coreopsis flowers grown by Melinda in our garden. The color is a lovely dark-gold, burnt-orange.
This yarn is worsted weight, but quite compact for its weight.
200 yards per 4 oz skein. Gauge: 4 – 5 stitches/inch on size 7 to 9 needles.
