Fibershed held its annual gala and fashion show at the Fibershed Learning Center on Black Mountain Ranch on Saturday, and I was able to participate as a vendor.

The Gala celebrates local, sustainable, climate-friendly fiber and textiles, and the fashion show features local designers and their entirely locally sourced and produced clothing. One purpose of the event is to to educate people about the environmental harm of fast fashion, and to promote clothing produced locally, with climate-friendly methods, and intended to last a lifetime.

The event was my first opportunity to show some of my yarns from the wool of my sheep, that I have dyed with natural dyes that I produced from flowers and plants on our ranch.

Paige Green took these lovely photos of me with my yarns.
